Abstract

The decision to leave the European Union by the United Kingdom has been one of the most delicate moments in the history of the European integration project. Given the difficulties of doing other types of evaluations at present, the interest of this work is to analyse a process, the first one with these characteristics, of one of the most important countries of the Union. During the conversations held by both parties for this purpose, economic, political and social unanswered questions about how to carry out this mandate have been posed, which has raised serious doubts about the advantages that were argued at the time of voting the exit from the European Union. This situation has created a climate of distrust between European and British citizens towards their politicians, not seeing clearly if they are really defending the interests of the country or others, difficult to understand sometimes.
